"One man may hit the mark, another blunder; but heed not these distinctions. Only from the alliance of the one, working with and through the other, are great things born."
- Antoine de-Saint

A growing success – By Students for Students

Warwick Economics Summit is an annual event held at the University of Warwick over a weekend, during which world-class international speakers address over 400 young and promising students from various top ranked universities in the UK and the rest of Europe.

Entirely student run, it is the largest academic conference of its kind in Europe. Aimed at "inspiring students to shape tomorrow's world by engaging with today's", the Summit also touches on many topics in the overlapping spheres between economics and the social sciences, such as international relations, finance, development, globalization and climate change to attract an audience composed by tomorrow's leaders from many different academic disciplines. At the same time, it provides a platform to debate current economics issues among peers to create cross-university and cross-boundary links between students.

Speakers that have addressed our delegates in the past include:

Point Prof. John F. Nash Jr. (Nobel Laureate 1994)
Point John Kay (leading British economist)
Point Johannes Linn (Vice President, World Bank)
Point Dr. Kandeh Yumkella (Director General, UNIDO)
Point Prof. Paul de Grauwe (renowned global economist, FT columnist)
Point Clive Crook (Deputy Editor, The Economist)
